I did as you suggested. I even printed out pages 38 and 39. First I tried it with 2.3 installed as the primary. First I attempted the ". . .setup.exe /a" for 2.2.1, But I got a windows error message. Then, I tried a ". . . setup.exe" /a" and it wanted to install 2.2.1 over the 2.3.
Next, I tried with 2.2.1 as my primary. First I attempted the ". . .setup.exe /a" for 2.2.1, But I got a windows error message. Then, I tried a ". . . setup.exe" /a" and it wanted to "repair", "modify" the already installed 2.2.1 So, I said the heck with it. I installed 2.3 on the primary C drive and installed the portable 2.2.1 also on the C drive. Then I sent shortcuts to the desktop for Writer 2.3, Calc 2.3, Impress 2.3, Draw 2.3 and Math 2.3. I then located C:\OpenOfficePortable\App\OpenOffice\Program\swriter.exe and created a desktop shortcut for OpenOffice.org Writer 2.2.1 By going directly to swriter.exe, I eliminate the portable apps execution and icon. Everything seems to work good. Greg NoOp <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: On 09/26/2007 12:01 PM, Gregory Forster wrote: > I installed 2.3 with on top of 2.2.1. If you install on the same drive you need to install into a different directory. Instructions are on page 38 of the 2.0 setup guide: http://documentation.openoffice.org/setup_guide2/index.html That gives instructions for intalling multiple instances of the same version number, but can be adapted for different version numbers as well. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
