What do you mean by "filed under openoffice"?  Are you referring to the
file extension?  Some folder?  What happens when you attempt to print
them.  Also, as for upgrades, if you wish to stay with version 1.x, you
might want to try v1.1.5, which is the last 1.x version and can read,
but not write, the ISO standard ODF file formats.  It also fixes many
bugs that were in earlier versions.  It's still available from
www.openoffice.org.
