OS: Fedora Core 5 Installed OpenOffice versions: 2.0.2 via yum / pirut from Redhat 2.3.0 from OOo (all RPMs + Redhat desktop integration)
The 2.0.2 version still works; The 2.3 version fails with the error message: "no suitable windowing system found, exiting." The installation notes state that an older version of OpenOffice can co-exist with the latest version? Does that only pertain to version 1.1 or earlier? A scan of earlier forum traffic and bug reports suggests this error message is usually associated with missing or conflicting graphics library files (surprise). However, no duplicate of, or close match to, this particular situation was found. Am I missing something here? Suggestions on how to proceed would be welcome. It would be nice to verify that version 2.3 works well in everyday use _before_ removing the older distribution-supported version. *"*-.,,.-*"*-.,,.-*"*-.,,.-*"*-.,,-*"*-.,,.-*"*-.,,.-*"* Steve Singer Columbia, Maryland USA --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
