You might want to try opening your document with the latest version of
OpenOffice, which is now version 2.3.

There may be some cases where OpenOffice does not render a Microsoft DOC file
exactly as it appears in Microsoft Word.  This is because the Microsoft DOC
file is a "secret" file format that is known only to Microsoft.  The folks who
write the OpenOffice program have spent many many hours attempting to figure
out how that file format works and have done a very good job, but it's not
completely perfect and quite probably will never be.

In short, if you absolutely require 100% perfect rendering of Microsoft DOC
files, your only option is to purchase Microsoft Word.
