I'm using the Official version of OpenOffice_2.2 on Ubuntu 7.04.

One of the things I've used to make my writing go faster was to use the Replacement table. For instance, if I found my self using the name 'Alexander' frequently, I would set it up so that if I put in ale*, it would spell out Alexander.

In the last few days, this function has stopped working.

When I checked the Help Menu, it says that to enable this, I have to have checked 'Format While Typing.'

Unfortunately, If I check "Format While Typing," Every time I hit the Enter key, I lose all the formatting of the piece I have just typed, including the font.

The only unusual things I have been doing recently is reformatting some pieces of writing I did before OpenOffice was around.

This destruction of Formatting carries on, though, even when I go back to a piece that I've been working on for months, since before I did the reformatting.

Any suggestions?
