Provided your Microsoft documents are prior to 2007, sure, OpenOffice will read
them fine. Besides storing your documents on a USB stick, you can also get
OpenOffice for your USB stick from:
http://portableapps.com/apps/office/openoffice_portable
Totally self contained, you not only can transport your documents between
computers, you can transport the entire program also - without leaving any
residual files on the host computer! That's how my son gets his projects done
at college. He uses the library computers and his dorm roommate's computer.

expensive. I was told about Open Office.
So if I download Open Office, can I read my MS Office documents on it?

Thank you for your help.
