This might be a watse of time and not at all what you are loking for (I'm really new to doing that sort of thing in OO), anyway,

Companies like Wolfram make math fonts for their "Mathematica" software that load and are available as fonts on Mac.
Try looking here:

http://library.wolfram.com/search/?query=font&collection=library&x=0&y=0

maybe that will help you.
Or, see this link. It may help or point you towards help.

Dear Friends,

I'd like to create a presentation that contains text containing
formulae. I insert a text object and then try to insert a formula within the text object. It always returns an error. Is there any way of working

with a text object containing formulae?

Best,

Hello Michal,

I do not think it is possible. You can of course insert each formula as
objects (and suffer a bit to keep them aligned with the text around).

A horrible workaround is to take a snapshot of the screen and paste the
text + formulae as an image :-)

I seem to remember an issue raised about it. If I have time to find the
number I will let you know: the more votes it gets the more the likelihood
that developers will consider it.

Cheers,

Michele

here's a related issue:

It is not exactly what you need, so I would encourage you to raise an new
request for enhancement.

Cheers,

Michele

Thanks a lot Michele. You have just saved me a lot of time. If OOo allowed woking with a mathematical text like Latex/Lyx does it would be a killer application. For the time being I'll stick to LyX then.

Thanks again,
Michal
