You need to install JRE (Java Runtime Environment). Go to www.java.com
and download it. Install it. Open OpenOffice.org. Then
Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org > Java. It will look for the JRE you just
installed. (This takes a few seconds because it searches the harddrive.)
Make sure that you close OOo after it locates the JRE. When you open OOo
again, you will be ble to use Base.
