I downloaded open office 2.3 for Windows. I have Windows XP Home Edition 2002, Service Pack 2. I unpacked, installed using the complete option, everything went fine. I used it for a while and it was fine. But after I shut down the machine, it won't start up. As it boots up it flashes a blue screen and then reboots and gives me the blue screen saying, "..windows did not shut down properly.." and the various options to boot up. I was able to recover by starting in safe mode and then using the system restore tool to an earlier restore point. I tried various other things to get started but it failed. I had to roll back to an earlier restore point. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, John Nerikaat
