You have sent your e-mail to a public mail list for OpenOffice.org
users. There are only volunteers here and there is no
OpenOffice.org employees here. OpenOffice.org does not sell the
software other people do. you can also obtain the software free
through download.

Not sure who you paid to purchase OpenOffice.org.

OpenOffice.org is a competing product to MS Office.

OpenOffice.org has the ability to read, write and save to the MS
Office format. It also has its own native format which happens to
be the only format that has been approved by OASIS, ISO IEC as an
Open Standard format to use as a document storage and sharing
format for all present and future text files.

Governments around the world are requiring such Open Standard
formats for storage and access of public documents. Microsoft,
however refuses to use the standard and wants to have their closed
proprietary format used instead. Why, so they will continue to
control and dominate the multi-billion dollar market that they
enjoy now. But on Sept 4, 2007 the Microsoft format was rejected by
OASIS, ISO and IEC.

Said all that to say, this you don't need Microsoft Office when you
have OpenOffice.org. You have the one Office Suite that can be used
on all the major operating systems and has the only OASIS, ISO and
IEC approved Open Document format. Which Microsoft absolutely
refuses to use.

If you need to share files with users of Microsoft Office tell them
to use OpenOffice.org or download and install the Sun Microsystems
ODF plug in for microsoft

http://www.sun.com/software/star/odf_plugin/get.jsp

or figure out how to properly save the files in the Microsoft
format.
