I use Thunderbird, a very lean and efficient e-mail client developed by
Mozilla (the same company that develops Firefox). It's free and can be
downloaded at:
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/
Thunderbird can import all your mail and settings from Outlook, by the
way.
