I am using OOo2.2 on a suse 10.2 box. Writing a book. I am trying to
do a table of contents. I am using a hierarchy of headings most of
which are picked up by the automated system. Except... I've set up a
new chapter heading style based on heading 1 and the auto sys is not
picking up the new style but is picking up the old heading 1 style
which has been merely edited. I've kept the new style linked with heading 1.
Essentially I want the preface, forewords, appendices and index
headings to have a different look to the Chapter headings but to
have equal status in the table of contents/outline hierarchy.
Suggestions please???
You need simply to add your new paragraph style to the list of those
that are included in the table of contents and to select its outline
level. Here's how to do this:
o Right-click in the table of contents and select Edit Index/Table
from the context menu and then the Index/Table tab.
o Tick the Additional Styles box under "Create from".
o Select the "..." button next to this.
o In the Assign Styles dialogue box, select your new paragraph style.
o Use the >> and << buttons to move your paragraph style to the
required outline level.
I trust this helps.
