a WINE site states that Word should work on Linux onder WINE along
with up to 90% of win98/2000 and 70% win-xp programs
Why would someone want Word if they can get OOo for free.
Is there some specific task needed from Word that OOo does not do?
I did not see earlier parts of this thread.
Also, the link below for Word 5.5 does not work the other day
when I tried it to see what it was about.
The only free Word is the viewer or a 30 day trial.
I still have 2 copies of Office 97 pro that I no longer need.
I have OOo and "gasp" M$ 2003. I had Publisher, but my
copy that was bought sends MS's template page into fits
so I cannot get anything from MS. It seems that if you
have Office 2003 without Publisher 2003, then "they"
do not like you using Publisher 2002. "they" wanted
you to buy the update/upgrade. So "they" gave me
a rude noise and told me to remove it if I wanted
any templates. I did and will keep it off till I need it again,
about twice a year now. "they" will try anything "they"
can to make your life a pain to use their site.
Use OOo or OOOo/OOOP instead of Word/M$ office.
Your life would be easier. Mine is.
