You can use both OpenOffice and MS Office on the same computer. Many people do. You just need to decide which will be the "default" program for opening office documents, spreadsheets etc. Whichever you choose you can always use the other for individual documents. OpenOffice relies for some functionality on Java. Just download the "with Java" version and install it. OpenOffice is *always* free, as is support from this *volunteer* group. You can use OpenOffice on as many computers as you like in any context you like - personal, business, education, ... You can copy it and give the copies to friends, colleagues, relatives etc. Be aware that OpenOffice can read and write MS Office documents. However, Microsoft has decided not to implement the ISO (International Standards Organisation) standard document formats used by, among others, OpenOffice.org and so cannot read or write OpenOffice documents. The most recent MS Office formats have recently been rejected by the ISO as international standards. -- Harold Fuchs London, England Please reply *only* to [email protected]
