Your problem is not an OOo problem, but a Java problem. The thing that seems to annoy you is the Java updater. The Java guys nowadays are doing some advertizement for OOo, thus the mentioning of OOo in their dialog. But anyway, that doesn't make a big difference to you, I assume. There is a Java update scheduler application that got installed on your computer when you installed Java. You can remove it in the following way: Go to "Start-Run..." and in the upcoming dialog enter "msconfig". You will get another dialog. Go to the tab titled "Startup" and look for an application called "jusched.exe". Remove the checkmark in front of it, close the dialog by clicking on "OK" and restart your computer. After logging in you will see another dialog that tells you that your startup configuration now is working in a kind of testing mode. There is a checkbox in this dialog where you can ask for not seeing this dialog anymore. Make sure that you check it or this dialog will pop up each time you log in. Now you won't get any update notifications for Java anymore. The drawback is that you have to look for updates by yourself in the future (e.g. security bug fixes).
