Hello Christian, First the easy one: the fact that you cannot revert to normal view is a bug in 2.3 which hopefully will get corrected in the next version. At present the only way to revert to normal is to open the master toolbar (View > Toolbars > Master View) and press the Close Master button. The difficult one now. This is apparently not a bug, but it is something that annoys me quite a lot. Impress has the "wonderful" habit of deleting the masters that are not in use and the behaviour is rather unpredictable too... My workaround is to create a template containing one slide for each of the slide masters I have defined. One last thing on masters: do not waste time trying to apply customized effects because they are not imported in the slides based on that master. Cheers, Michele
