Sophisticated computer software is a technical subject and it's
documentation cannot be reduced to "non-techie" kindergarten level. Just
because you fail to understand, does not mean that the documentation is
badly written and insulting the authors (some who subscribe to this
list) is unlikely to get you the assistance you seek.

It sounds like you want "hyperlinks" to bookmarks in a document or
"cross references". I suggest you go back to search and read the help
sections on these two subjects. I would also recommend that you spend
some time reading the relevant sections of the user guides which you can
find here: http://documentation.openoffice.org

In simple terms, here is one way. Go to the place in your document that
you want to jump to and create a bookmark (menu - "Insert -> Bookmark").
Then go to the place in your document that you want to click and jump
from and create a hyperlink (menu - "Insert -> Hyperlink"). In the
"Hyperlink" window click "Document" (left hand side) and click the
"Target In Document" button (right hand side), then from the "Target In
Document" window select the bookmark you created earlier. Click the
"Apply" and "Close" buttons in both windows and you are done.

If English is not your native language you may wish to check the
following to obtain support in another language:

Hope this helps.
