I complained about this when I first installed 2.3. Then I was directed to a
URL that specified that was a problem in 2.3. (By the way, I have WinXP Pro)
Well, I could not tolerate that because my Newsletters, Business meeting
minutes, business letterhead, etc. all extensively use Fontworks. So I asked
how I could use 2.2.1 and 2.3 together on the same OS and hard drive. I was
given instructions that didn't work. So now I have 2.3 AND OOo 2.2.1 Portable
installed on the same hard drive. I popped a desktop shortcut icon for 2.2.1.
So now I have icons for 2.2.1 (write only) and 2.3 on the desktop You can get
portable OpenOffice.org 2.2.1 at
http://portableapps.com/apps/office/openoffice_portable and it is not a
crippled version either. This portable version is designed to operate, fully
functional from a standard (non-U3) USB flash drive.

I was just going to send an email asking when this problem will be resolved,
but your post made it handy.

A similar problem is manifest under Windows XP Pro and Debian Linux: I have
raised an issue (83061) for this.
