Harold I downloaded from this page: http://download.openoffice.org/2.3.0/contribute.html?product=OpenOffice.org&os=winwjre&lang=en-US&version=2.3.0
during the download, it gave me the option to modify or repair problems during the download. i chose repair. when it finished downloading, i click the icon it placed on my desktop, but a window with all the inside components of openoffice shows up with things such as openofficeorg1,openofficeorg2,openofficeorg3,licenses,readme etc. Thanks for your your help. If the name doesn't end in ".exe" then you downloaded the wrong thing. What *exactly* did you download?
