I generally love OO and use it as my office suite of choice on my Mac--I have been too cheap so far to splurge the $80 for a iWork licence.

I upgraded my Mac to Leopard and so far am disappointed with the performance of OO under X11 as opposed to how it fared under Tiger. There seem to be lots of problems in generally with X11 under Leopard. This seems to have ill effects for OO--often slow to start, screen slow to repaint when resizing windows, etc. Save these aesthetic annoyances the software seems to perform as it should. I also can't launch X11 from the dock anymore with things going strange. I have to launch it from an alias on the desktop. I have found that adding scalc, simpress, and swriter to the Applications list for X11 and launching them that way is faster than just clicking on OpenOffice.org 2.3.app in the Applications folder.

I am running a well appointed iMac with 4 GB of RAM so speed shouldn't be an issue.

Have other Mac users had similar experiences with OO and Leopard?

Also, I have played with the alpha for the Aqua version, and even though it is still buggy as heck I really look forward to a beta. I understand we may see one in a few months?
