The basic idea of "Da Vinci Plugin" was to convert OOXML files into something that they wanted to name "ODF" because it used the ODF vocabulary but that couldn't be understood by any other application than MSOffice. They even admitted that on their web page! This says a lot about them. No wonder that all other ODF TC members didn't share their opinion about what can be named ODF and what not. So they decided to put the blame on the ODF TC and moved on to pollute the next standard. Poor CDF guys, they have all my sympathy. But not only for that reason they won't be missed. They had a very offensive and insulting discussion style (especially that "marbux" guy) and tried to infiltrate the OASIS TC by flooding it with their "members". If this strategy reminds you on something: yes, that's the same strategy Microsoft used to take over command in the national standards committees that should give a recommendation about making OOXML an ISO standard. Go figure. Fortunately the OASIS rules forbid such infiltration strategy.
