(And we all know how painful that is!) I've been having a recurring problem with OpenOffice crashing when I try to save a "Writer" document as MSWord 97/2000/XP. It actually occurred a few times a couple of weeks ago, then happened tonight again -- right when I had to email some documents to a publisher. Not impressive.
Anyway, after about 10 tries -- and sending crash reports for about 6 of them -- I tried saving the document as MSWord 95, and that worked. I'm just hoping the publisher can work with it in that program, but we'll see. I thought I'd report that semi-success that I had, just in case it sheds some light on the problem.
