I had already discovered that if I pasted it as unformatted document, I
got all the text, but without the formating, which is a pain if the
original was two columns.
Thanks,

When I am cutting and pasting text from the net, I constantly have a
problem that only so much shows on the OO screen. Sometimes, If I
cut down the font-size greatly, I can get the rest, and even then I
can only save it by cutting and pasting it again, into Kword, After
which I can put that file into odt.
It seems to me that I had this problem some years ago, and solved it,
but my memory is such that I can't remember how it went.
Can anyone give me any advice on this?
I'm using Ubuntu, with the official, non-Ubuntuized version of OO.
Thanks,

I have the same problem. I run on Windows Vista using Open Office 2.3.
It happens when the "designers" of a web site use a huge table and the
data will not fit on one page in OpenOffice. If you cut what you can
see out of the table and paste it in a non-table area on your document
the rest of it will appear as you continue to cut and paste.
Thanks
