Dear Open,
Is there a work book that can be used in s classroom to teach
students how to use OpenOffice?
I know of two good good books: "OpenOffice.org Writer" which
focuses mostly on the writer part. Bit dated, July 2004, but
still very good. O'Reilly 2004, ISBN 0-596-00826-0. $24.95
The other is about a year newer and covers most of OOo, but once
over lightly. Titled "Point and click OpenOffice.org." November
2005. The one I have was a Barnes & Noble "Exclusive Edition" but
the real publisher is Prentiss Hall/Pearson Education 2005 ISBN
0-13-227743-3 $29.95 list but I got it for $10.95 (Bizzarly
enough also has chapters on Firefox and Thunderbird!)
Both have CDs, with the Point & Click being 2.0 and the Writer
has 1.1.1. I actually like the content of the Writer one better
even though the version is quite old.
Best,
Allen
