I am trying to install OOo 2.3 onto a Sparc running Solaris 8 - it has the required patches or later. It was running OOo 1.1 which I removed as the new package would not install. Something about number of occurrences of MOZfirefox.
A root install ran with errors. First thing is I cannot locate an install log. I reran the install and this time it of course found what it had done before - despite saying no changes were made to the system - and failed again. This time I copied and pasted from the "details" screen. Package: gid_Module_Optional_Systemintegration_child_1 Package Name: openofficeorg-desktop-integratn /usr/sbin/pkgadd -n -d /tmp/OOG680_m5_native_packed-1_en-US.9221/packages/ -a /apps/openoffice.org2.3/adminFileNoReloc openofficeorg-desktop-integratn Returns: 4 Error during installation I have googled and can find no information. I also tried the OOo forum archive with similar results. If I drill into the OOo file structure I find a binary call soffice which runs apart from opening a text window complaining about not finding EN_US. It did find my 1.1 directory in my home directory and converted it - but that too threw a couple of errors which I failed to note. That's the problem with GUI installers, where is the damn logfile? I should not have to try and copy something out of a popup window, sometimes you cannot do it. -- Regards Dave Saville --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
