You may find it convenient to put your graph on a sheet by itself, or
copy it there.

I have a question regarding printing graphs from Calc.
In Excel, it is possible to create a chart in its own worksheet; then
when that worksheet is printed, it would automatically be scaled to
fill a page. Is there anything analogous to this in Calc?
If I select the graph by single clicking it, and select File > Print,
then under Print range, check "Selection", it still prints the entire
worksheet, even though the only thing selected is the chart. If I
double click the chart, then there is no option to print.
I realize that I can select a range that includes the chart, then tell
it to print the selection, but that is less friendly than clicking the
chart to select it. Plus, it doesn't solve the goal of printing a
chart that fills up a page, unless the size of the chart fortuitously
matches the size of the page, or I do some trial and error with the
print scaling to get it to match the size of the page.
Any suggestions?
