I've been using OpenOffice for quite a long time. These days, I have to send my presentations to Microsoft Office users (I can't tell them to install openoffice ; university professors etc.). I can't afford the presentation to be corrupted because of the export.
Is there any solution to this problem?
I need them only to view the presentation, not to edit it. Is there a light weight viewer, that can be installed on their machine (with permission of course) when they open my presentation?

Are you using Windows? Or do you have access to a Windows system? If so, one workaround is to turn your problem on its head. If you install Microsoft's freeware Powerpoint Viewer - available only for Windows, it seems - on your system, you would be able to run your presentation that you have saved in .ppt (or .pps) format in that, and see how it will appear in your correspondents' copies of Powerpoint. Then you have the chance to tinker with your presentation in OpenOffice Impress until the result as viewed in Powerpoint is acceptable.

I trust this helps.
