I am using version 2.2 of OpenOffice.org on Mac OS/X. (Actually, I was using 2.3 for a while, but it seems to have reverted to 2.2 unexpectedly. This is OK, with me becuase 2.3 was a slow pig and *frequently* hung itself. But that's another issue.)
My problem is : I've been given a Word document to edit. I edit it (with changes being recorded, but not shown). It looks lovely. I save it; seems OK. Open it again. Lots of problems: - Formatting has been changed; blank paragraphs inserted many places, including midparagraph. Some paragraphs closed up. Sometime text is removed! Bullets are no longer bullets. (This has frequently been a problem, but I haven't worried about it.) - Line number properties change from don't count blank lines to DO count them. - What else? I don't know. I'm getting tired of re-fixing all this. I've tried saving the file as .odt, doing my fixes, then saving as Word. Doesn't work. HELP!
