I'm not sure that there is an "easy" way (depending on how you define easy, of course).
When I've had a situation like that, I've re-arranged the data in the spread sheet so that the labels are the left-most column in the block of data. Not a real neat solution, but it works. I suspect that you were looking for something easier.
