THere is something called instamsia but when I click on it it says something
about wrong application...
I am just a user trying to use what I thought was a simple application - this
is not so simple to do after all - a plaintive complaint if you would like to
call if that...!

Hi Chris
Did you download from the OpenOffice.org website?
When you downloaded the file onto your desktop, did you then
double-click the file to install it?
If you completed both these tasks then the icons to start your
applications are in the Start programs. To create icons you may simple
right click writer and the choose >send to > desktop to create an icon
for this on your desktop.
