Registering with OpenOffice.org isn't that important (safe for statistics?)
You are not subscribed to the users list though

Maybe your download isn't complete or is corrupted.Download again from here:
http://porting.openoffice.org/mac/download/x11-104.html
(choose PowerPC or Intel)
Double-clicking on the dmg should install OOo (in Applications)

Then there's the X11 issue. Is it installed? Use the X11 that sits somewhere
on your Tiger install DVD or CDs (spotlight search for X11User.pkg). There
is an update (version 1.1.3) available from the Apple website (if it's still
there). Don't mix with the X11 for Panther of for Leopard.
