Perhaps updating your font cache will resolve the problem?

Don't know the command for Mandriva or SuSE, but Debian/Ubuntu is:

sudo fc-cache -fv

You can also copy fonts to your OOo user profile directory:

~./openoffice.org2/user/fonts

FWIW: OOo 2.3.1 is out now and fixes multiple problems (example:
Fontwork now actually works) so you should consider updating.
