[users] Features of Open Office Suite

I am interested in using the Open Office Suite as an alternative to Microsoft's 
products.
My system: 
PC with Windows XP and broadband internet connection
My main requirements:
Facility to read, update and produce Microsoft-compatible files and rtf 
documents now and ODF documents later. The "tables" feature in particular must 
be compatible with Microsoft's version.
Spelling and grammar checking in Dutch, French, English, German, Spanish and 
Russian.
