I've been trying to use OO to print my Christmas Card labels and finding
it an uphill struggle. I have a spreadsheet with the data in it, usual
sort of thing: title, name, address1, address2, town, county, postcode.
I used the Wizard to set up my data source and it appears to convert
my spreadsheet to a database (OO Base). Any changes to the spreadsheet
don't propogate through. I would prefer to keep the data as a SS so I
can share it with my wife who is still living in M$-land (I have hopes
but you can't rush these matters).

When I came to set up my labels, I used New->labels and worked through
the various stages (several times before I got things sort of working).
My labels are made by some obscure firm who obvously daren't put their
names on the box, but correspond pretty well to one of the Avery standards:
there are two columns of 7 labels, each label is 99x38mm.
I finally got it all together and printed to a file (.odt) which looked
OK, but when I tried to print this as a test, it reported "Error while
printing" with no further info. I next tried printing to a file which
produced a PostScript file, with BB info, but no page size. Displaying
it with GV as A4 reveals that it looks OK, except that it starts right
at the bottom of the page. I don't know about your inkjet printer, but
mine (HP 1220C) doesn't really like the bottom 0.5" and nothing ever
appears on it. My labels have a nice blank strip top and bottom (symmetric
so it doesn't matter which way up you put them) so if I tried to print
this it wouldn't map onto the labels. Is there any way to go back and edit
the label layout info (as done in the Wizard) without having to start all
over?
