Dear Sirs I am a long time user of Openoffice, having started many years ago with the Staoffice
Recently I installed the 2.3 version and some extensios, working perfectly. A few days ago I received the indication of the existence of the 2.3.1update wish I downloaded, and my problems started: - my computer became very slow to initialize and opening any file took long time on opposite to the 2.3 version , which was almost instantaneous. A feww days later my computer did´nt initialize and a blue message indicated that I had kernel problems related to some instalation of software I had done. Theo only one was the version 2.3.1. Fact is that the technitian had to repair the windows operating system. Now I am faced with the following situation : I reinstallled the version 2.3without having removed the 2.3.1 version and couldn´t get the quick initialization icone on the tray, obliging to go to start - programs - openoffice, which is a nucanse, as well as a slow entering in any of the programs . Afterwards I tried to repair it through the remove / repair possibility and it became much quicker, but the icone on the tray still didn´t appear. Then I simpply removed the openoffice, language package inclusve and reinstalled it all, but still no icone for fast start. As working like this makes the use of openoffice slow, I recur to you in order to see if I can get any help to solve this problem and bring back my excellent openoffice.
