This is almost certainly the result of your Anti virus (AV) software believing that the installation file is a virus or other malware; it happens frequently, not just with OpenOffice. Try this procedure: 1. Disconnect your computer completely from the net - pull the modem plug from the phone socket 2. Disable your AV software. 3. Run the installer; say "register later" when asked - you can't register as you don't have an internet connection ;-) 4. Re-enable your AV software 5. Re-connect to the net; *never* leave your computer connected to the net if your AV software is not running properly.
