This is possible only from Draw or Impress.
o Open a Draw document (File | New > | Drawing).
o Click on the Text ("T") button in the Drawing toolbar and use the
mouse to drag a text box in the document.
o Enter your text into the box and format it as required.
o Adjust the boundaries of the text box.
o Select the text box (so as to show the eight green squares).
o Go to File | Export..., select the appropriate file format, make
sure that "Automatic file name extension" and "Selection" are ticked, and save.
