OpenOffice includes a presentation application called "Impress", which
is similar to PowerPoint.  You may have an issue with file
associations.  Try saving that file first and then double clicking on
it's icon.  Impress should then open.  If not, you may have a file
association problem, which is easily fixed.  If it opens when saved to
disk, but not from within an email, there's a file association problem
in your email application settings.  The fix would depend on what email
program you're using.

Here's the method for Windows, which may or may not affect your email
program.

Changing file associations

Right click on file icon
Select Open With > Choose Program...
Check "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" and
choose the desired application.
