I haven't kept track of exactly which letter combinations seem to trigger the failure in AutoCorrect but remember one is with 'it's' - it seems to be more of a problem with any word starting with 'i'. Otherwise the function work pretty good - the only other issue I have is that I have an autocorrect set on a couple of names I use regularly (I'm too lazy to capitalize them all the time) and this works great, unless I want to use the possessive as in David's, then it won't capitalize it.
I don't think the problem concerns starting with "i". But, as you suggest, it seems that any word that ends in apostrophe-s will not be automatically capitalised, in fact.
