I have OOo 2.1 installed on Vista. I'm trying to do a couple of Group
Boxes containing Option Buttons. I'm hoping that somebody can answer the
following questions.
1. I would like the Group Boxes to be untitled, they seem to want to be
titled, with the Default being Group Box. How can I do this in the future?
How can I undo the current titles to make the untitled.
2. The default fonts are way too small for what I want to do, but I can't
find any way to change them. How do I change them before creating them?
How do I change existing ones?
3. The Group Box Wizard seems to arrange the Option Buttons as it pleases.
I want a group of 2 buttons arranged horizontally, but all I can get is
vertical. I want my other group to be six buttons arranged vertically at
the left margin. They're vertical alright, but they are centered. Any way
I can undo these and make them as I would like them? Any way to specify
this sort of thing at first so that I don't need to undo in the future?
4. I've decided to change the titles of some of the Option Buttons. Is
there any of doing this short of a complete re-do of the Group Box?
I have 2.3.1: if these ideas don't work, you might consider upgrading.
1. The fourth panel of the Group Element Wizard invites you to set a
caption for the group box. There is nothing to prevent your clearing
the caption at this point. (The caption or label is not the same as
the name.) Alternatively, once you have created the group box,
here's how to change the caption. Use Ctrl+click to select the group
box and then double-click it to open the Properties window. Note
that this should be headed Properties: Group Box; if it is headed
Properties: Multiselection instead, you have selected the contents of
the group box as well - so go back and try Ctrl+click again. In the
Properties: Group Box window, on the General tab, you can change
Label to what you need - including removing it.
2. I don't see any way to change the font size before you create the
items. To change that of existing items, use Ctrl+click to select an
item and then double-click it to open the Properties window. On the
General tab, press the "..." button next to the Font window, and
select your font size there. Alternatively, and perhaps more
conveniently, if you double-click the entire group box, you can use
the Properties: Multiselection window to change the font attributes
of all items (and of the group box itself) at once.
3. Use Ctrl+click to select each of the buttons (or other items) in
your group box separately. You can then drag them around as you
please. I don't see any way to change the default arrangement.
4. Again, use Ctrl+click to select each button separately and then
double-click it to open the Properties window. On the General tab,
modify Label as necessary.
I trust this helps.
