You can install the latest version. However, you'll have to separately
download Java, instead of getting the version of OpenOffice that
includes it. I believe the latest version of Java that will work with
Windows 98 is 1.4.2 or so. If you find performance is too slow, you
could install v1.1.5, which is the latest of the 1.x versions. With it,
you can read, but not write the ISO standard ODF file formats.
