Is one of those files setup.exe ? You need to be logged in with
administrative privileges. Once you have done that, find the setup.exe file
in Windows Explorer. Double click it to start the installation of
OpenOffice.org. Follow the directions. If you already have MS Office, Word,
Excel, or PowerPoint, MAKE SURE the boxes mentioning these MS products are
UNTICKED (UNCHECKED). This is the page where ticking the box makes
OpenOffice.org the default program for those file types.
When the installation is finished, you will find a folder in your Start
Menu in All Programs.
One final note, after installing Java, you need to install the NZ
dictionary so that you can spellcheck your writing. This also requires a
network connection to download the files from the Internet.
File > Wizards > Install new dictionaries opens a file. Follow it's directions
to download the NZ dictionary and install it.
Check Help (F1 key) for instructions on how to set English (NZ) as your
default language. If those instructions are not sufficient, please write back
to this list: [EMAIL PROTECTED] There are people on this list which are
from Australian and New Zealand. They can explain the details if you need
them. (I live in the USA and use English (USA) which is the default
language.)
