Dear Open office!

I am using version 2.3 for mac. and it stinks! I am sorry to say this, but you have turned at really nice product into a copy of Microsoft Word. The earlier versions worked very well with my keyboard and the shortcuts. This one do not! The apple button is not integrated, and it doesn't work with ctrl button either... the new fast scroll function is nice, but a bit out of control some times.
I have used open office for 2 years now, I know what i am talking about.
I love the fact that it can open any file, from other programs and I have never had problems like this before. I use open office because it used to work better than Word, but now I am not so sure, and considering wether I should switch back.

I am dissapointed, that the mac version is no longer as god as it used to be.

Hope the update is better.

Hi Louise.

I am assuming you are using the OpenOffice.org that requires X11?

You can always move back to a previous version of OpenOffice.org. Many people find that a particular version works better for their needs. Some people are still using 1.1.5 for example.

There is a lot of work being done on the native Mac port of OpenOffice.org. It is still in development and should be ready for everyone with OpenOffice.org 3.0.

Also, NeoOffice does a nice job of making a native Mac version of OpenOffice.org. They do lag at least one release behind the official OpenOffice.org though.

There are many options available to you. I hope that you find one taht works well for you.
