I'm afraid that you do not give enough information
OpenOffice 2.3.1 on Windows will not open Office 2007 files. There is a
plan for Openoffice to open all of the new MS Office 2007 files but the
specification for these files runs into several thousand pages and the
work takes time.
However my OpenOffice on Ubuntu Gutsy, will and there are other versions
also.
What is your operating system?
