Please tell us what operating system you are using, how much memory and
how fast is your cpu.
Are the pictures .jpg files?
Also, is it all pictures, or only large pictures?
Can you display a small .gif ?
Is a placeholder shown where the picture should be?
Is there a space of the right size where the picture should be?
Have you tried clicking or right clicking on the placeholder or space if
there is one?
Have you tried switching between Print layout and Web layout on the
"View" menu?
