| Hello, | | I just heard about your product. It sounds (almost) too good to be | true. Believe me, it is very good and definitely true. | I have one question before I try your product: Currently I have the | Microsoft tool bar that allows me to toggle between writing in | English and 日本語 (Japanese). Does OpenOffice offer the same | or similar feature? | | Thanks, | | Arthur W. Kennedy You should understand that OOo (OpenOffice.org) is not some kind of MS Office "knock-off" clone. While OOo offers a high degree of compatibility in being able to open and save files in Microsoft's closed and secret format and offers much of the same functionality, the methods used to perform the same operations may be different. The OOo word processor "Writer" offers the user the facility to write in multiple languages within the same document. This is achieved by the use of character and paragraph "styles". The following link offers some guidance about using styles for language configuration. http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=67 To familiarize yourself with the use of styles, I recommend that you refer to the user guide. Specifically "Ch6 - Introduction to Styles", which is available from this page: http://documentation.openoffice.org/manuals/oooauthors2/index.html There is a wealth of information available from the documentation project on the OOo website. (see the link in my signature) I hope this helps. Dave - -- This is a mailing list which exists to support users of OpenOffice.org All answers are given by other users who volunteer their time.
