Yes. The installation process consists of three steps:
1. Download a .exe file to a directory ("folder") of your choice, possibly
the desktop.
2. Run this .exe to create a set of installation files in a directory of
your choice. This step creates a lot of files including one named "setup.exe
".
3. Run the "setup.exe" program from #2 to install OpenOffice in a directory
of your choice, *probably* somewhere down the c:\Program Files\... path. You
may not have explicitly done this; usually steps 2 and 3 are done
automatically after you kick-start the process in step 1.
Once you are happy that OpenOffice is working OK you can delete the file you
downloaded in #1 and all the files created in #2. The files you need to keep
are those created in #3. It sounds to me that your "c:\users" folder is the
one that you created in step 2.
If you want to double check, find the file "soffice.exe". It should be in
"C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.3\program". If so, then what I just said
is OK. Note that the "OpenOffice.org 2.3" bit of that might not be exactly
as I've typed it depending on exactly which version of OpenOffice you
installed. If not then don't touch anything and come back here with details
of where the file "soffice.exe" is and we'll have another think.
