I am using version 1.1.5 of OpenOffice.org. My problem is :
the base-component be absent. How I can it download separate?
The first thing to keep in mind is that there is no Base module for
Version 1.1.5 - The module was introduced with Version 2.0 of the
application.
The next thing to realize is that many of the features in Base are
available in Version 1.1.5 through the DataSource functions - you would
have to use a database engine of your choice. For example you can
download the same HSQLdb database manager used internally by Base
separately.
Finally - you can install a 2.x ( 2.3.1 being the latest ) version of
OpenOffice.org along side a 1.1.5 install on your machine. At least that
is easy with MS Windows anyway, never tried with one of those other
operating systems. So if you have a couple hundred free mes of space on
your drive just install the Version 2x application - You can not install
Base alone ( well actually you can, but it doesn't really work ) as a
minimum when you install you must choose Base and Writer.
Unfortunately - If you create a Base file with an embedded database
under OpenOffice.org 2.x you will not be able to access the data in any
1.1.5 files.
