I've just stumbled across this: http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/2 Web2.0 OpenOffice.org collaboration & document management extension by O3Spaces B.V. Have to admit that I've no idea if it provides a Base multiuser environment, but sure looks interesting on the surface.
