[users] Inserting shapes

Dear open office,

I've recently downloaded impress and can't find a way to insert objects, 
such as arrows, from the toolbar at the bottom of the page. I click on the 
object with my mouse, drag it onto the desired place on my slide, click 
again - and nothing happens.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.
